Alpha 550 is a class of its own on Sony's product range. This can be seen from the sensor used, namely CMOS. The use of these sensors is quite successful. This is evident from the lack of noise produced at ISO 3200, in addition to the increasing resolution. Functions that are available are not much different from other Sony products with little additional functionality.
Sony Alpha 550
Menu, can be easily understood by users who have not conversant with digital SLR menu though. The addition is compared to the previous Alpha series is more much more detailed parameter settings. This is to give space to users who have more experience to play with their creativity.
Innovation is quite striking is function "Auto HDR". When activated, the camera takes two successive images with different exposure and process the two images into two images which have a very wide dynamic range. So far the HDR function can only be done through special software on the computer.
Function "D-Range" which already exist in previous products will be retained because it proved effective. This function works to increase the brightness in dark areas through software contained on the camera. Thus, dark areas can still be seen the details. D-Range setting can be set up in intensity through the 5 levels or can also be set automatically.

Compared to other manufacturers, Sony has a screen that can be folded to the size of 3.0 inches and has the largest resolution of 920,000 pixels, as well as sensors that can be engaged to compensate for movement so that the image still looks sharp.

Alpha 550 photo results show satisfactory results. The resolution is very good sharpness, high color accuracy and noise is low enough so that in general given the predicate "good". What is important is this camera is very easy to use.
